There are many interesting camping sites that you can enjoy in Louisiana. In fact, there are many more than you would expect at first glance. It was a little difficult to make a list of the best ones but we did stick to the ones below. They are warmly recommended and you have to consider them.
Grand Isle State Park
A maximum of 55 families can be accommodated at the same time here. You will love the park in the event that you want to relax, fish or enjoy open campfires. There are many sites that do feature water and electrical hook-ups so you can come with an RV. Basic necessities are always taken care of. You will not be allowed to have pets in cabins and lodges and payments are usually done up-front.
You are allowed to stay a maximum of 2 weeks and the early departures are always going to be treated as a cancellation. The park buildings are always smoke free and you have to make reservations at least one day in advance. One thing that you should know is that the cell phone may not work.
Palmetto Island State Park
This site is located around 6 miles away from Abbeville. There ar e6 cabins that are available, together with a boat launch area that takes you to quite a great river. You will be able to take advantage of various areas that are wheelchair accessible, picnic pavilions, walking trails, tables, a meeting room, the nature center and Canoe launch.
South Toledo Bend State Park
This is a really great camp that you want to visit in the event that you are looking for cabin/vacation rentals. Overnight accommodations are quite great here and the outdoor experience is one you will love. The facilities always include a full kitchen and even bathrooms. It is perfect if you do not really want to go camping with an RV or with your tent. 55 total campsites are available. They all have electrical and water hookups.
At the South Toledo Bend State Park you need to bring your own soap products, towels and pillows. You are allowed to stay a maximum of 2 weeks and you have to make a reservation at least one day in advance.
