St. John’s Co-Cathedral
To get the most out of your trip to Malta, you should visit St. John’s Co-Cathedra, the cathedral and main church of the Bishop of Malta. Its ornate interior is filled with Caravaggio’s unique works of art. Although the cathedral is a beautiful and important place of worship, you should not wear thin heels in its sanctum. Grand Masters Palace
There are several ways to see the Grand Masters Palace. Visitors can stroll through the beautiful courtyards and see statues in the state rooms. There are also tours you can take. The Palace is open to the public on Mondays to Fridays, from 10am to 4pm. Tickets cost EUR10 for adults and include entry to the Palace Armoury and the Palace Museum. Alternatively, you can purchase a multi-site ticket to see all of Heritage Malta’s museums.
St. Julian’s
Located on the island of Malta, St. Julian’s is a seaside town with a beautiful bay. The town’s Balluta Bay features a promenade, restaurants, and bars. To the south, in Paceville, there are plenty of pubs, shops, and restaurants. Traditional fishing boats line Spinola Bay, and the Spinola Palace is a beautiful baroque mansion with a clock centerpiece. The town is also home to a marina and luxury boutiques.
Golden Bay
If you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday in the Mediterranean, Golden Bay, Malta is the perfect destination. This picturesque beach is ideally located between the towns of Manikata and Mgarr on the island’s northern coast. It boasts two equally beautiful beaches – Golden Bay, which is the most popular beach on the island, has a large hotel just next to it, and Ghajn Tuffieha, which is less crowded and more secluded.
Ghajn Tuffiena
If you’re looking for a great beach to spend your vacation, Ghajn Tuffieha, Malta is a great choice. The bay is beautiful and the cliffs surrounding it are full of wildflowers. There are also snack bars nearby.
Hagar Qim
You can reach the Hagar Qim temples by either bus or by car from Valletta. Alternatively, you can take the scenic coastal road from Siggiewi to Hagar Qim. There are also some Hop-on-Hop-off bus routes that stop here. During your visit, be sure to take advantage of these routes to see the most spectacular sites. You can purchase a Hop-on-Hop-off ticket in advance. However, you should be aware that the opening and operating hours of some of the temples may have changed due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, so you should check with the operators before booking your tickets.
Mnajdra
If you are planning a trip to Mnajdra, Malta, there are a few things you should know before you visit. The island’s megalithic temples are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are thought to be the oldest freestanding stone structures in the world. They are carved from limestone and are situated on the southern edge of the island. The Mnajdra temples are considered the best example of Maltese megalithic architecture. They are located in the midst of Mediterranean garrigue, and are part of a Heritage Park.
Sliema
Visiting Sliema, Malta, is a wonderful way to experience Maltese culture and traditions. The charming promenade is an ideal spot to relax in the evening, while taking in the traditional Maltese architecture. If you’re in the mood for a little exploration, you can spend some time wandering the town’s streets. You’ll also be able to find some wonderful churches in the area, including the Sacred Heart Church and the Stella Maris Chapel.
Valletta
One of the best ways to travel around Valletta is by car. You can rent a car and save money on car insurance. However, driving in Malta requires a lot of patience and caution. Traffic in the main roads can be clogged with traffic and can be dangerous with reckless driving. Also, country roads have potholes and are narrow. A small car works best in the city, but if you’re driving across the countryside, it’s best to rent a larger car.
