These two small villages are located 150 minutes away from Oslo and are a perfect starting point for off-road and on-road mountain biking. Sjusjoen is located at an altitude of 800 m. and will offer great round trips in undulating terrains with creeks, mountain birch trees, rounded mountain formations and creeks. Various traditional summer farms and cottages are present, together with different accommodation opportunities and shops.

Hemsedal

Hemsedal

At first glance, Hemsedal does not look great for mountain biking as the mountain side is steep but this is one of the leading biking spots in the country. There are 21 signposted trails available, ranging from beginner to advanced. You can actually spend one week biking just in this region.

We recommend Hemsedal’s Eastern side as there are some pretty beautiful lakes available. If you are looking for high altitude rides, there is a steep road that will pass by the Hemsedal ski centre, going up to around 1,200 meters.
