For next year, check out these recommendations. They will make your vacation so much better when you are looking for wildlife adventures. Check out the recommendations below and if you have others, be sure to let us know through a comment.

Uganda – Track Large Primates

Uganda gives you the possibility to see the eyes of a mountain gorilla, which is a wonderful experience as only around 700 still exist. Around half of them can be found in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You are going to have to work for it, going for altitudes as high as 3000 meters and trekking for hours. To make matters even more complicated, there are just 8 permits allowed for every single one of the 9 habituated families in the park. If you get the permit, you can spend one hour surrounded by the huge gentle primates.

If you are interested for more, check out Queen Elizabeth National Park for tree climbing lions and Kibale National Park for tracking chimpanzees. Trekking is great in Rwenzori Mountains. However, you should know that the permit for gorilla tracking allows you just one day and you have to buy in advance for $600.

Poland – Tracking Lynx And Wolves

The European bison is the largest of the continent’s land mammals, with a height of 1.8 meters and weighting close to one ton. You can find them in Bialowieza National Park, a reserve that covers parts of Belarus and Poland. There are close to 500 European bison that have their home hear. You want to visit during January as you can also track elk and wolves while watching pine martens, lynx and boar. Even if you do not catch a glimpse of the majestic wild bison you will still appreciate the wildlife.

Serengeti, Tanzania – Grazing Wildebeest

If you love the images you find online with wildebeest running through rivers filled with crocodiles or of lions that are stalking their herds, Serengeti is a wonderful destination to consider for your January trip. This is because this is a great time to visit a part of Africa that is not that well-known. Around 1.5 million gnus start their migration here after giving birth. At the same time, you are close to various other wonderful wildlife centers that are simply great to see.

White Wilderness – Antarctic Peninsula

January is a great month to visit the Antarctic Peninsula as the weather is much better than in the rest of the year, with temperatures soaring only to freezing point or a little more. This is actually great for the area since visitors can enjoy huge penguin colonies with the support of the weather during a time when chicks are born. You can also enjoy whale sightings and although weather is never guaranteed, visiting Drake Lake is always a great experience. Sail surrounded by icebergs and be surprised by everything.
