There’s nothing more blissful than a vacation to Turkey, with golden beaches, blue seas, incredible activities, delicious food, and welcoming locals. Considering the county’s 7000km of coast, choosing the perfect destination can be a little tricky, which is why we’re discussing our top picks below.
Turkey Entry Requirements
To avoid any disappointments when you arrive, you’ll have to make sure you’ve got all the necessary documentation for entering the country. You will need a valid passport with plenty of time left before the expiry date. As well this, you may need to get a Turkish evisa, but you can learn more about this by clicking the link.
Marmaris Beach
Marmaris is a fantastic tourist resort that has everything from adrenaline-fueled experiences to crystal-clear waters. A large stretch of the Marmaris coast is taken up by hotel sun loungers reserved for guests, but you’ll find plenty of opportunity to relax without them. After you’ve finished catching the sun’s rays, you can retreat to one of the many bars or restaurants for a spot of food and refreshment.
Cleopatra Beach
Thousands of tourists descend on Alanya City every year, and it’s really no surprise at all. Found in the centre of the city amid a historical fortress, you’ll find the beautiful Cleopatra Beach. It takes its name from the famed Egyptian queen – an icon that’s believed to have bathed here.
Unlike other beaches on this list, this one has achieved a ‘blue flag’ status, which means it has impeccable water quality and the environmental management is excellent. Therefore, you can take a dip knowing you’re in one of the cleanest swimming spots in the country.
Iztuzu Beach
To find something a little more interesting, head over to Iztuzu Beach by boat on the freshwater Delta River for an incredible experience with stunning views. When you’ve arrived, you’ll be met with a soft sandy beach and views of the Mediterranean Ocean.
This beach is a popular destination with tourists because it hasn’t had any heavy development. The reason for this is because turtles use the site for nesting, and they’re protected by the Kaptan June Sea Turtle Conservation Foundation. If you’re staying in resorts like Marmaris, you’ll see plenty of adverts for daily excursions to “Turtle Beach”, which is an apt name for Iztuzu Beach.
Kabak Beach
Ölüdeniz is famed for its paragliding, but not so far away you’ll find Kabak Beach, which is a quiet village that’s a huge hit with backpackers and nature lovers. To access this quiet beach, you’ll have to travel down a 30-minute trail, which unfortunately makes it inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues. When you’ve reached the end of the track, you’ll be blown away by how beautiful this half-moon beach is.
Turkey has so many incredible beaches and you’d be reading all day if we covered every single place worth visiting. However, if you’re planning your next summer getaway, make sure you add some of these lush beaches to your itinerary.
