Being predominately mountainous, New Zealand has a lot of beautiful landscapes for those who want to conquer its peaks, and hikers can choose the summit they want to visit based on their skill level. Our list is great for both novice and experienced hikers however, mountain climbing can be pretty tiring so before embarking in a New Zealand adventure make sure you are in a good physical condition.
Tongariro National Park
Tongariro is a volcanic park and a protected area for both cultural and ecological reasons. Tongariro National Park is a place where tourists can discover important Maori sites. While visiting the park, try the hiking trails of Mount Ruapehu, a famous volcano mountain known for its spectacular eruptions. When the volcano is quiet, the beautiful volcanic lake can be visited.
